Welcome to Bailing Out Benji!
People are constantly asking, “What is Bailing Out Benji”.
This organization… The facebook page... The blog… It is all about education- enlightening citizens and giving the individual person the power to change the lives of the animals around them. I consider myself to be a humane educator, not an activist. I will always do what is right by the animals, and I will use each opportunity to educate those around me about animal issues.
Most people know that animals need the basics- food, water, love and shelter. What I do is a step beyond those basic needs. I am helping kids and adults realize that while animals can’t speak, they do experience pain, fear, hunger, sadness and other emotions similar to humans. They deserve to be treated with kindness and compassion.
What I am trying to do with each article is educate, update and inform readers (Iowans and non-Iowans alike) on animal laws, stories and events, in hopes that we can get the ball rolling for tougher legislation to protect our companion animals. And by “everything” animal related, I mean it… I write about less than savory shelters, bad dog breeders, even local zoos that aren’t the greatest. I am not biased.
Education is the key to getting our problems solved– so please share this with all of your friends AND always leave feedback. Our group does several forms of outreach… We have educational tables at events, we hold presentations at the local university, and skype with groups (and classes!) If you are interested in having us help near you, please contact us through our facebook page!
