Welcome to Bailing Out Benji!

EVERYONE wants to know… What is Bailing Out Benji?

Bailing Out Benji is a humane education organization based out of Ames, Iowa. We are all about education- enlightening our readers and giving the individual person the power to change the lives of the animals around them. At Bailing Out Benji, we provide free lectures and presentations about various humane education topics in schools, libraries, and other public venues, as well as, utilizing social media channels and the organization’s website to provide facts, statistics, and solutions to helping animals in harmful or less than ideal situations.

Our programs include sending out ambassadors to raise social consciousness about these animal welfare issues on a local and national level and holding fundraising events in order to raise awareness about said issues or to provide immediate relief to animals in need.

For more information, please feel free to contact us at peopleforanimals2011@hotmail.com

Most people know that animals need the basics- food, water, love and shelter. What we do is a step beyond those basic needs. We are helping kids and adults realize that while animals can’t speak, they do experience pain, fear, hunger, sadness and other emotions similar to humans. They deserve to be treated with kindness and compassion.

What we are trying to do with each article on our blog is educate, update and inform readers (Iowans and non-Iowans alike) on animal laws,  stories and events, in hopes that we can change the future for animals everywhere.

Education is the key to getting our problems solved– so please share this with all of your friends AND always leave feedback.

  1. We’ve always adopted from shelters or rescue groups. You can find puppy mill retirees that devoted breed rescue groups have saved! There are rescues like Mae & Bette, our two shy seven-year old puppy mill mommy retirees (retired 1 year and 3 years). They needed a home and are getting lots of loving and learning with us. It takes a lot of patience and deliberate socialization, but these lucky Wheaten girls are quite the wiggle-butts now! It is easier to teach them when you have a “normal” dog to help show the way life should be. Unfortunately we lost 10-year old Bailey last month to spleen cancer, but it’s great how Bette Boo! has stepped up to show Mae Mobley the house rules! :D!H

  2. I have rescued for many many yrs… until my health went down hill… I had one rescue that was to travel with me but she was killed 2 yrs ago by a wild dog …. so the last 2 yrs have been a torched life not having a rescue or rescueing.. I told myself I would still keep reposting for rescues so I would still be in that world… Well whole posting for one of my may rescues.. I saw 2 very sweet faces.. one little floppy ear girl who was a mill rescue and one mill rescue that had the hugest smile!!!!.. well I wanted a little girl but by the time i flew home she was adopted.. but as soon as i saw that smile in person, Paco stole my heart for good.. The mill had told the rescuen that he was 4 yrs old.. loast his teeth from wet food and nawing on his bars.. well after getting him to the vet. he has joint problems, and a partial collaps trakia… and cateracs so they suspect he was more of 8- 11 yrs… doesnt matter… I love him with all my heart.. and everyone that meets him falls for him too.. from yrs of being in a kennel just big enough to turn around in… to flying the world… he has come along way!!!

  6. I was reading your “My Auction Adventures” and was wondering how to go about finding out what the inspection reports are saying about a place? All I can find is the license number was but I need the customer or certificate number of a place to see what kind of violations were made against a place. How can I go about finding that information?

  8. I rarely leave responses, but i did a few searching and
wound up here Bailing out Benji | Educating the individual about Animal Welfare.
And I do have some questions for you if it’s allright. Is it just me or does it give the impression like a few of these responses appear like they are left by brain dead individuals? :-P And, if you are posting on additional sites, I’d like
to keep up with everything new you have to post. Could
you make a list of every one of all your social pages
like your Facebook page, twitter feed, or linkedin profile?

Thanks for reading. Please share the article and leave your comments below ^..^
